A Long Tradition Extending Over Nearly 120 Years…

Let’s go back to the 1900s when Paris blossomed both artistically and intellectually at an incredible rate. Writers, painters and politicians congregated in cafés and restaurants - as well as the tea rooms which were the latest place to be! In 1903, confectioner Anton Rumpelmayer founded Angelina with his son René, a tearoom at No 226 Rue de Rivoli named after his daughter-in-law Angelina Rumpelmayer. The interior design by French architect Édouard-Jean Niermans was done in Belle Époque style which quickly made Angelina popular amongst elite Parisians like Marcel Proust and Coco Chanel who frequented it often! In 2005, Angelina was taken over by Bertrand Restauration who have since expanded it internationally in Middle East and Far East countries!
