Future Fresh Salanova Lettuce Mix Salanova lettuce is result of selective breeding, inspired by wild multi-leaf lettuce found in an open field in Europe. Developed from Dutch seed specialists, Rijk Zwaan, Salanova lettuce is a registered trademark. Because it is hydroponically-grown, and allowed to grow longer than most “baby” lettuce, it has better flavor and quality. And it also has a longer shelf life than traditional lettuce.
Luc Baudet Côtes Du Rhône “Rive Droite” Rouge The Luc Baudet Côtes du Rhône “Rive Droite” Rouge is one of the finest examples of Grenache in the region. It is round and soft, and juicy, with a long, smooth finish. This medium-bodied red wine is full and soft on the palate, with fruity notes. On the nose, it has aromas of red fruit jam and flower petals, with notes of nutmeg and cherry.
Shall you opt to use our alternative Basket packaging, this gift set is is ideal for a Large Basket.
Steaks- Keep in your freezer once delivered. All our WX steaks are blast frozen to ensure exceptional quality.
To thaw your steaks, you can either: Thaw them in the refrigerator for around 12 to 18 hours or thaw them in Cold water ( quick thaw method ), in their vacuum pack, for 20 to 40 mins in a large bowl of cold water. Never thaw at room temperature.
Potatoes- Potatoes last longer on the kitchen counter than most fruits and vegetables, but eventually, they start to sprout green shoots and lose some of their freshness and flavor.
Do not wash potatoes until you are ready to use them. Moisture does not help them last longer and will in fact make them prone to soft spots.
Place the potatoes in its original paper bag, mesh bag, basket or bowl to ensure good ventilation. Store your potatoes in a cool, humid, and dark place. Never store potatoes in the fridge. The too-cold temperature turns the potato starch into sugar. Check on your potatoes regularly and remove any that are soft, shriveled, or sprouted so they don’t cause more potatoes to go bad. Even if your potatoes have sprouted, they are still safe to eat as long as they are firm to the touch and are not shriveled.
Provided they are properly stored, potatoes can last weeks.
Salad- Your fresh produce will be stored in a resealable plastic ziplock bag. You will notice that there is air inside and this maintains a sort of internal atmosphere to keep your fresh produce in good condition.
Once opened, the produce will begin to age. The best way to keep it fresh for longer once opened is to keep it moisture-free.
Future Fresh produce have no wilted leaves or roots that may cause decay, so you need only wash them before cooking or consuming. With produce with high water content, like fresh rocket arugula, you can remove the excess moisture that might accumulate by lining the storage bag with a paper towel and resealing the bag again. Make sure to check on it mid-week, and replace the paper towel once it takes in too much moisture.
Done properly, this method can help your produce last to about a week max after opening of bag.
Wine- Store unopened red wines in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 16 to 18°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
