The Fix & Fogg Smoke and Fire is made by blending their Super Crunchy peanut butter (which is made with golden roasted Argentinian hi-oleic peanuts) with chilis from Kaitaia Fire, organically grown in New Zealand. It also has the surprising but pleasant additions of Manuka smoke and Spanish smoked paprika. And to round it off, a sprinkling of Marlborough sea salt to really bring out all of its flavor.
What we get is an adventure for the palate, one that contains no GMOs, no added sugars, and no additives. It has a smokey start to its flavor, and finishes hot and lingering. A savory spread with a kick.
The Fix & Fogg Peanut Butter Smoke and Fire is perfect to use for cooking or as a condiment. Use it for your avocado toasts, for satay sauce, or in hummus. You can also slather it onto your burgers and roast vegetables.
Fix & Fogg founders, Roman and Andrea Jewell, were both lawyers. In 2013, burnt out from their work and expecting their first child, they decided to leave the corporate life behind and begin a change of lifestyle. They wanted to dedicate their time and their energy to something meaningful, delicious, and sustainable. That something was nut butters.
The company’s name came from characters in the classic Jules Verne novel, Around the World in 80 Days—Detective Fix and Phileas Fogg. The novel is about taking great risks, and going on a great adventure, and this resonated with the Jewells.
Today, Fix & Fogg nut butters have won numerous international awards, and are sold not just in their native New Zealand, but in many countries around the world. The popularity of their butters is thanks to the quality of their ingredients, the innovation in flavors, and the obvious care and passion that goes into making each jar.
