Isigny Sainte-Mère Fondue
Perfect for parties
Made only with the best cheeses, carefully selected by their Master Cheesemaker, the Isigny Sainte-Mère Fondue Instant is creamy and smooth, and so completely delicious.
TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR
Fondue is a melted cheese dish, a bit like a cheese soup, served in a communal pot over a portable cooker. It’s classic party fare, and that’s no surprise, given how delicious it is!
It’s also easy to use, just heat it up, and you have yourself an instant classic right at your table.
PREPARATION AND PAIRINGS
Perfect for a party, or even just to share amongst family, the Isigny Sainte-Mère Fondue can be prepared in two ways:
Remove the lid, and the film sealing the pot, and pop it in the microwave, and heat for 2 minutes. Once done, stir it thoroughly until good and smooth, then microwave it again for another 2 minutes.
You could also pour the contents into a saucepan, and heat for 5 minutes on a low-medium flame, stirring consistently to get it to a smooth texture.
Ready within minutes, serve it with your choice of dippers, like roast potatoes, apples, pears, broccoli, cauliflower, and of course, bread. Place the fondue in an area where everyone can congregate around it, making for a beautiful warm atmosphere.
FOR LOVE OF TRADITION
When the sea retreated in the 16th century, one of Europe’s largest wetlands, the Isigny region, was left with a rich clay soil. This soil allowed the greenest of grass to grow plentifully, giving dairy farmers in the region an abundance of incredibly fine milk, rich in mineral salts and trace elements.
Isigny Sainte-Mère was a cooperative established in 1909 in the Manche departement, and which merged in 1980 with Isigny-Sur-Mer, which operated in nearby Calvados from 1932. They combined with an ambition to ensure quality and to remain faithful to traditional methods, in respect to both the terroir and the people.
Cheeses (except brined ones in jars) should be stored in the crisper or the butter drawer of a refrigerator, not on the shelves themselves. This is to help regulate their temperature and humidity levels—and prevents the formation of mold. Once opened, they should not be kept in their original packaging. This fresh cheese should be stored in a lidded plastic or glass container in the refrigerator. Kindly pay attention to the best before date label when you receive your cheese. Consume prior to date indicated.
